Really recommend this hotel. Perfect location in Lyon. Lovely lobby and entrance, meeting 5 star expectations. Very friendly, capable and professional staff too! Location was as good as i could expect. Overall, i really enjoyed my stay, with clean and comfortable rooms. The view from the restaurant is incredible. My only constructive criticism would be that the rooms feel a little tired.

The brand seems damaged here. The hotel rooms are a step back in time to 1990. There is too much cheap furniture that doesn't match in the room, just crowds the space. Over all the room gave the feel of a 3 star suburban hotel. There is a certain charm I suppose with red printed hallway carpet, oriental make believe paintings, pealing wall paper etc, but as a Sofitel one expects that the owners bring the property up to a minimum Sofitel standard. Rebrand as a Mercure perhaps. I am unsure how it can pass as a Sofitel and no one can enforce a brand change or renovations. The employees were fine and dedicated.
